The national implications of the listing
17/04/2010
There have been some great bits of press coverage of the listing. As well as nice pieces in the local press, there have been a couple of features in the London Evening Standard and the Independent that have really explored the issues involved.
The Standard Article by Kieran Long (ex editor of the Architects Journal) is especially exciting as it really challenges architects and urban designers to see Brixton Market as model to be emulated at a national scale. People in Brixton Market are very proud that their market is being seen in this way. We hope councils, planning authorities and developers are also prepared to learn from this.
The Independent article also has some good quotes by traders and FBM that put across the issues too.
